State Meeting - August 2008
On Monday, August 11th
fifteen delegates from across the state represented their Dioceses at the Annual
Meeting held this year at Bishopscourt in Sydney.
The day began with prayer and a time
of devotion led by our guest, Reverend Narelle Jarrett, where we took the time
to look at “God with us- The forces at work in our lives” in the context of
the story of Abram and Sarai.
Discussion included the challenges of
rural life and distance, the changes needed to bring in new members and the
difficulties of encouraging existing members as they age.
We also looked at what was
working ... our impact through playgroups, seeing how we can connect with
our communities, how we can support parishes and how we pray and support each
other, how our members can and do serve fulfilling our mission of Sharing
Christ’s love by encouraging, strengthening and supporting marriage and family
life.
We also decided on the date and venue
for the State Conference to be held in 2010.
We look forward to gathering together
on Monday April 11th 2010, for a three day conference ending on
Wednesday 13th at the Mittagong RSL Club and Resort ... so diary that
date now!
