Introducing Pinjarra Branch
Pinjarra branch meets at 10:00am on the second Friday of the month at St
John's Parish Centre. The branch has 12 members including their parish priest
and our MU chaplain, Rev'd Karon Austin.
The branch has links with Nova Scotia in Canada and with Gosford in NSW although communication with both branches seems to have been lost.
Members raise funds for Overseas and Northern Outreach by making a gold coin donations at each meeting. Pinjarra branch organises an Annual Day of Reflection which commences with the Eucharist at 9:30am at St John's Church and to which Mandurah members are invited.
They send baptism cards to each child for five anniversaries and Margaret Broad makes baptism bears to give to children on the day of their baptism. Members also provide a white-covered Bible for couples at their marriage..
Pinjarra Branch will host the visit of Rev'd Libbie Crossman (Australian Social Responsibilities Dept Coordinator) and Mrs Bronwyn Fryar (Prayer and Spirituality Dept Coordinator) on Wednesday 19th May this year.
Overseas Members
Did you know that we regularly keep in touch with two local members who are
living overseas? Copies of Mia Mia and the The Mustard Tree
are sent to them so that they can keep in touch with what is happening in the
world of MU both in Australia and in the Diocese of Bunbury. We send our best
wishes to Marie Woodward who is working in a school in India. Maria is a member
of the Collie branch. We also send our love to Sue Arkell and her husband
Richard who are now back in Zimbabwe. Sue is a member of the Bunbury branch We
wish them all a safe to WA whenever that may be.
MU Caravan
The Diocese has a holiday campsite on the beach front at Vasse near Busselton for the use of Anglicans. MU has a caravan there for the use of needy people which is also available for others when
vacant.
Enquiries will be passed on via the MU Australia - Web Master.
