MU DIOCESE OF BENDIGO
November 2008
Saturday 15th November a bright and sunny day at Daisy Hill near Maryborough was the setting for a return visit of the Sudanese from Footscray Parish Melbourne. A wonderful BBQ lunch and lots of activities was the order of the day. Members of Bendigo Diocese Executive and members of Maryborough MU catered and hosted the day held at the President of MU Bendigo Ronda Gault's bushland farm.
Pony rides, hammock swings, egg collecting, bike rides, table tennis, toys for the toddlers and fun and friendly fellowship for the adults. The children had grown a lot since last year and their parents English had improved greatly. Fr Cliff from Maryborough with Avoca Parish met Wilson a student at Trinity college Melbourne and showed him over St Michael & All Angels Talbot an historic church 4kms from the farm. He was thrilled to see the 150 year old Church. Gifts were given to the visitors and eggs for every family to take home. The Sudanese sang to us before leaving and this was so moving. Thanks to the MU Bendigo President Ronda Gault for her organisation of the day especially as her husband was away in hospital. A great day for MU Bendigo
