Welcome to MU Busselton
Busselton is a branch within the Diocese of Bunbury. Located on the south west coast of Western Australia approximately 56 kms south of Bunbury.
With an active membership of 21 and a membership of Friends of 19 Busselton has a regular attendance at monthly meetings. Members meet at 1.30pm on the third Thursday of the month beginning with a service from "A Worship and Prayer Book" which involves members taking part. A meeting is then held, sometimes incorporating a guest speaker or perhaps a special celebration of some kind. The afternoon concludes with afternoon tea supplied by hostesses on a roster basis.
Busselton has links to the UK and also New Zealand with whom they correspond with on a regular basis.
This year saw the celebration of the anniversary of 95 years in Busselton, a great day of jubilation with a visit from the Diocesan President, Margaret Rennick. Balloons and a lavish afternoon tea added to the festivity which was photographed and reported on in the local paper.
Many members have purchased the beautiful MU Scarves which were designed and produced in the UK, they are quite magnificent and are proudly worn by members.
Busselton is proud to have among their members several ladies who have received their badges of 50 years plus. These ladies are all active members taking part in regular hospital visiting and attending baptisms of which there are many. They also follow up on the anniversary of the baptisms to acknowledge the wonderful occasion.
Busselton MU reaches out to the wider community in many ways, through assisting at Aged Care Facilities, hospital visiting, home care, assisting at charity lunches, knitting for Anglicare and we look forward to the coming year of "Discover and Celebrate".
