Council Meeting

Members of the MU Australia Council, together with some special guests, met at Pallotti College, Millgrove Victoria from 3rd to 7th May 2009.
The theme of the meeting was "Challenge, Change & Relationships".
Mr Reg Bailey, chief executive of the Mothers' Union UK led Business Sessions - "Relationships with World Wide MU" and "Attitudinal Changes for the future".
Reg also led a Bible Study every morning where he explained the Book of Nehemiah. After each Bible Study attendees broke into small groups where the study was discussed and related to both our MU roles, and our personal lives.
Ms Penny Mulvey, a media consultant, ran sessions explaining how to understand and communicate with the media.
MU Department Heads spoke of the activity in their department over the past 18 months, and each of the 23 Diocesan Presidents gave a brief insight into recent changes and current challenges of MU in their diocese. Vice President Kaye Healy gave an update of the Parenting Education Program (PEP) and Webmaster June Hickey spoke of the need for current information for the website.
On Wednesday, MU members from Melbourne, Gippsland, Bendigo and one lady from the UK joined in the day's proceedings.
The Conference began on Sunday evening with a Eucharist Service. Each morning began with a service from the MU Australia Worship and Prayer Book that is currently being produced. The Conference closed on Thursday morning with a Eucharist Service.
